Here are the top three stories in Cumming today:

  1. Need a break from the kids but can't find a sitter? Cumming Aquatic Center is here to help. CAC is hosting a Parent's Night Out today from 6 -1 0 p.m. The cost is $20/child where they will enjoy supervised pool time, games and a pizza dinner. Lifeguards will be present and on duty, and children will be supervised both in and out of the water. Can't make it today? That's okay. It will host another one Oct. 7. (Cumming Aquatic Center)
  2. Downtown Canton is hosting Bumpin' The Mango, a family friendly fun night filled with live entertainment, late night shopping, restaurants, Kids Zone, axe throwing, food and beverage vendors and more. The event will take place today from 6-9 p.m. on Main Street. Don't forget your chairs and dancing shoes. (Canton Government).
  3. The Cumming Chapter of the U.S. Military Vets is hosting its 5th annual Veterans Rally Point at Good ol' Days Bar and Grill Saturday August 6 from noon - 4 p.m. The event, which is open to the public, is a group of veterans helping fellow veterans. Donations will be accepted to help various veterans causes. (Legion 127).

  • Forsyth County Schools would like to remind parents and students to expect bus delays the first few weeks of school as they navigate traffic and work to ensure students' safely to and from school. (Forsyth County Schools via Facebook)

  • Polo Fields Equestrian Center (5890 Polo Dr.) is accepting proposals for private organizations interested in providing complete management, maintenance and operational services of the stable building and equine programs.   • If you need help, get it! A new mental health hotline is now active. You can now call or text 988 to reach the Suicide Prevention Hotline and get the care you need 24/7. You can also visit 988lifeline.org/chat to chat with a caring counselor. This shortcut is not replacing the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-8255), but will serve as an easy alternative for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis.   • Want to learn and play lacrosse? NorthEast Forsyth Youth Lacrosse is hosting a free clinic for 1st-8th graders Saturday, August 6 from 9 - 10:30 a.m. at Lanierland Park, 6115 Jot Em Down Road in Cumming.
