Bear Cub Hit, Killed by Car in Forsyth County
The wreck happened just north of Bottoms Road on Ga. 400.
CUMMING, GA — A bear cub was killed Tuesday when it was hit by a vehicle on Ga. 400 in Forsyth County.
The incident happened just north of Bottoms Road, said Forsyth County Sheriff's Office spokesman Dep. Epifanio Rodriguez.
According to the sheriff's office, a 78-year-old man and his wife were traveling north on the highway at about 1 p.m. Tuesday when the bear emerged from the side of the road.

The man was reportedly driving the speed limit of 65 mph at the time.
Sheriff's deputies cleared the scene without having to block the highway. The vehicle was too damaged to be driven and a tow truck was called to remove it.

Neither the driver nor his wife was injured, Rodriguez said. A mother bear and another cub were believed to be nearby when the accident happened.
