The National Scholastic Art Competition announced on Monday, March 17, 2014, that Pinecrest Academy high school student, Soyeon "Chloe" Kim, was awarded the Silver Key at the National Level for her contemplative drawing Alone. This is the first time a Pinecrest student has won at this level.
Chloe first won the Golden Key at the regional level, the highest honor out of all public and private schools in the State of Georgia. Her work is on display at SCAD-Atlanta until March 22. Her piece will then travel to New York City, where it will be on display at The New School for Design and the Pratt Manhattan Gallery. On June 6, Chloe will be honored during a special National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall.
