Cumming Burglars Shot at Elderly Homeowner First: Deputies
The 71-year-old woman was able to return fire despite being wounded three times.

Forsyth County sheriff’s deputies are releasing more information about a home invasion-turned-firefight which occurred near the shores of Lake Lanier on Monday.
Deputies say that two people broke into a home on Magnolia Avenue at approximately 10:30 a.m. The noise of the break-in woke the 71-year-old woman living there, who went to check on the strange sounds only to run into a pair of burglars, WSB-TV said.
According to sheriff’s deputies, one of the burglars was armed and shot the woman three times. Despite being wounded in the stomach and hip, the woman retrieved her own firearm and shot back at the burglars; it’s not clear if she hit them, WSB-TV said.
