Cumming Crime Briefs: Headstones Vandalized, Gas Station Robbed
These two crimes are being investigated by the Cumming Police Department and the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office
Headstones Vandalized
Vandals struck a cemetery on Union Hill Road during the month of July, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office incident report.
Forsyth County News says that the caretaker of James Cemetery arrived at approximately 4 p.m. on July 15 and noticed several headstones and footstones had been pulled up. Additionally, the caretaker reported a pile of ash littered with soda cans, which were probably part of a bonfire.

Gas Station Robbed
Two employees at a Cumming gas station came to work on July 1 and found the store had been ransacked, a Cumming Police report states.

Forsyth County News reports that police responded to Al’s Quick Stop on Dahlonega Street and discovered the ATM machine pried open, two poker machines damaged, the safe stolen, the cameras tilted up and away, and the security system’s battery removed.
All told, the thieves made off with approximately $18,000.
