🌱 Tam's Tupelo Celebrating Six Years + Family Fair

Here are the top three stories today in Cumming:

  1. Celebrating six years in business in Forsyth County, Tam's Tupelo will host an anniversary dinner July 25 with proceeds going to a local charity. Tickets cost $35 for a buffet-style Cajun cuisine and guests can choose from a 5 p.m. or 6:15 p.m. seating time. Tickets are available at the door or online at https://www.fpforsyth.org. All proceeds from the event will benefit Family Promise, a nonprofit serving families in the community who experience homelessness or housing insecurity. Tam's Tupelo is located at 1050 Buford Road, Cumming (Forsyth County News).
  2. Dawson County Family Connection will host a family fair at Main Street Park in Dawsonville July 29. The event is designed to help families connect while also informing residents of the resources available in the community. The fair will run from 6 to 11 p.m. and feature free food and prizes. The movie," Sing 2," will also be shown at dusk. The event is made possible through a collaboration of dozens of local sponsors, including local businesses, organizations, nonprofits and churches (Dawson County News).
  3. The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office released its traffic-related incidents for June compared to this month last year. In 2022, there were 272 speeding citations compared to 234 this month last year. There were 181 speeding warnings compared to 220 last year. There were 88 DUI arrests compared to 97 last year. There were 519 accidents compared to 515 last year. There were 14 accidents due to DUI compared to 10 last year. There were 26 texting and driving citations compared to 48 last year. (Facebook)
  4. The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners received the Humane Law Maker Award from the Humane Society of the United States on July 21. The award was given for the board's leadership and support of animal welfare in a June vote to amend the County's Code of Ordinances to prohibit the illegal sale of pets by pet shops or roadside sales. They also received artwork of the state dog of Georgia, the adoptable dog. The adoptable dog was passed as the official state dog by the 2016 Georgia General Assembly (Forsyth County Government).

Scammers will ask you to send them the 6-digit code because they are using your phone number to make a fraud and need that code from you. Never give away any code.
