Here are the top three stories today in Cumming:

  1. A Cumming truck driver faces homicide charges after causing a multi-car collision on GA 400 Friday night that resulted in one fatality. Charles Wilkins, 61, was driving at an "unreasonable" speed near SR 369 when he first rear-ended a Nissan before crashing into a Kia driven by James Wright of Cumming. Wright, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nearby drivers reported damage to their vehicles due to the debris from the accident. The highway was closed for five hours Friday for investigation and clean up. Wilkins is being charged with homicide by vehicle to the first degree, reckless driving, too fast for conditions and following too close. He is being held without bond. Authorities say additional charges could be forthcoming as the investigation continues. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  2. West Forsyth High School alum and University of Georgia tight end Oscar Delp scored his first touchdown as a Bulldog Saturday in UGA's 48-7 blowout win over South Carolina. Delp scored on a 28-yard pass in the third quarter from Carson Beck to go up 44-0. Delp finished the game with two receptions for 32 yards and a TD. Delp was rated 4-stars, the No. 2 tight end, and No. 100 prospect overall in the class of 2023 on the 247Sports composite rankings. He received 33 scholarship offers out of high school. About me: I've lived in Cumming since 2010. I'm married with two kids, both in Forsyth County Schools. I consider myself a jack of all trades. I love solid news reporting, scoring baseball games, playing golf, watching movies, reading books, doing crossword puzzles, listening to music, competing in fantasy leagues, commissioning said fantasy leagues, playing poker, trying new foods, traveling, and hanging with friends and family.
