Forsyth County Among Nation's Richest Areas

Forsyth was ranked in the top 20 richest areas in the country, based on U.S. Census Bureau estimates.

CUMMING, GA — Forsyth County is one of the most well-to-do areas in the United States, according to the U.S. Census Bureau's latest estimates of the most affluent places in the United States.

Forsyth, bolstered by its properties along Lake Lanier and other attractive communities, was ranked 20th in the nation, with a median household income of $97,886. No other Georgia community made the top 20.

Independent cities and counties are included among these communities in the Census Bureau's latest estimates.

The average nationwide income was $55,755 in 2015. Forsyth County nearly doubles that number.
