Forsyth Deputies Dumping Razors For Cancer Research

"No Shave November/December" will see sheriff's office employees growing beards while raising funds for cancer research.

CUMMING, GA — If you notice Forsyth County sheriff's deputies looking a little scruffier than usual, just know that it's all for a good cause.

Employees of the sheriff's office will be taking part in No Shave November/December, with cancer research being the beneficiary of their expanding stubble.

According to a social media post by the sheriff's office, each participating employee will be asked to donate or raise at least $50. Any deputy who raises or donates at least $100 will be allowed to keep the beard through Dec. 31.

Members of the public are encouraged to find a deputy to support with a donation in the contest. The sheriff's office plans to post photos of their progress throughout, and citizens will get a chance to vote on a "Best Beard" winner.

Tuesday's post did note that deputies will have to adhere to strict guidelines on beard growth and grooming during the contest.
