The Forsyth Sheriff's Office is asking for any information related to thieves who robbed a local Hindu temple, taking $15K worth of gold.

CUMMING, Ga. — The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is seeking any information on a group of thieves who walked into the Sri Maha Lakshmi Temple on Peachtree Parkway in south Forsyth and stole gold from statues.

The group of two men, two women, a teenager and a child entered the temple around 8 p.m. on May 16. While one of the males distracted the priest, the other suspects took gold necklaces off the female statues in the prayer room, which can be seen from suveillance footage. The necklaces total $15,000, officials said.

During the theft, one of the suspects prevented the priest from stopping the suspects from stealing the jewelry by talking to him while the female suspects went around collecting the jewelry.
