Health Insurance Final Deadlines Approaching!

If you are uninsured, there are two important deadlines left to enroll in a Qualified Health Insurance Plan.
1.  March 15, 2014:  If you want coverage effective April, 1, 2014.
2.  March 31, 2014:  The last 2014 opportunity to enroll, coverage effective May 1, 2014. 

If you miss these dates you could be subject to the mandate/penalty and unable to obtain a major medical policy until 1/1/2015.  An exception would be if you have a qualifying event such as losing your current insurance (ex.  company group plan loss).

Make sure you critically look at the plan options for not just premium cost, but factors such as health provider networks, deductibles, other cost sharing.  Obtain professional help to fit the plan to your needs.

All of us need coverage to protect against unforseen major medical expenses.  Pay careful attention to these dates and don't wait until the last minute.  It is very likely the end of March will see a crush of enrollees and very long wait times to get help.
