BOC Recognizes County Parks and Rec Director, Citizens for Progress
The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners recognized Jerry Kinsey as 'Distinguished Professional Administrator of the Year' along with the co-chairs of Citizens for Progress.
At Thursday's Board of Commissioners meeting, Chairman Brian Tam announced that Parks and Recreation Director by the Georgia Parks and Recreation Association as Distinguished Professional Administrator of the Year.
The chairman also read a resolution honoring Jayne Iglesias and , co-chairpersons for the non-profit advocacy group Citizens for Progress, for their work in educating citizens .
The Board unanimously approved a rezoning request by Carson Development from Agriculture 1 to Residential 4 for a 4.481 acre site at McGinnis Ferry and Boyd Road and a variance request that allows 15 feet between structures instead of 20 feet.

The board also approved variance requests by Gracemont Development and Investments, Inc. for a nursing home located south of Jot 'em Down Road and east of Georgia 400. The variance allows an all-weather walking path around a small lake located on the property and the construction of a deck and dining hall inside a 35-foot buffer to accommodate wheel-chair bound patients.
Commissioners also took care of some housekeeping details that mesh the county's Civil Service Board rules with local laws regarding a timeline, deadline and procedural protocols for appeals to the board.
