Cumming Post Office Open Until 6 p.m. for Last-Minute Tax Filers Monday

Last-minute tax filers in Alpharetta and Milton on Monday, April 15 have until 6 p.m. to drop off tax forms at the Post Office in Cumming on Tribble Gap Road.

If that is not late enough for you? There are two Contract Postal Unit (CPU) locations in Cumming open late. Leon's Food Mart, 5410 Matt Highway is open until 10 p.m., and the Citgo at Cumming Square, 1410 Atlanta Highway is open until 11 p.m. But if you are running really late, the Atlanta Main Post Office on Crown Road will be open until midnight.

As an alternative, electronic filing can be done from your home.

When dropping off tax forms on April 15th, Atlanta District Manager Sal Vacca recommends visiting Post Offices early in the day to avoid last minute long lines. Vacca also recommends giving returns to outside collection employees (where available), using Self Service Ship and Mail Centers for stamp purchases and double-checking returns for the proper address and correct postage. Customers should also be advised that all mail weighing 13 ounces or more must be presented at the retail counter.
