Man's Body Found in Lake Lanier

GAINESVILLE, GA — The body of an man believed to be a regular Lake Lanier boater was found in the lake on Thursday.

Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman Stephen Wilbanks said the body was discovered at Gainesville Marina around 10 a.m

A boater located the body floating in the lake at the marina, Wilbanks said.

The victim is believed to be a man in his 60s who rents a slip at the marina and keeps his boat there. The victim's name is being withheld until family members are notified.

Foul play is not suspected, Wilbanks said.

The case, though, remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office and Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
