🌱 New Whataburger + ATM Burglary Attempt + Holocaust Exhibit Ending

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Cumming.

Morning, neighbors! It's me, Phil Giltman, your host of the Cumming Daily. Let's get this week started off right, with a quick guide to everything you need to know about what's happening in town these days.

Dad Joke: What do you call it when a group of apes starts a company? Monkey business.

Today's weather:

Humid with a t-storm in spots. High: 81 Low: 67.

📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in and around Cumming who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Cumming Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top three stories in Cumming today:

  1. A new Whataburger is coming to town. Construction has begun at Lakeland Plaza and the restaurant's projected opening date is set for late Spring 2023. The Board of Commissioners approved the project back in October and the 3,189 square foot location will feature 33 parking spaces for customers. (Forsyth County News Online)
  2. The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is investigating an ATM burglary attempt at the PNC Bank on McGinnis Ferry on Aug. 8. According to the incident report, video footage from the bank shows three men pulling up in a green Toyota van just before 5 a.m. and attempting to open the ATM with a hammer and crowbar. The ATM was pulled from the bank by a vehicle and dragged through the bank's parking lot. Despite the robbery attempt, the ATM remained intact when found by investigators. (Appen Media)
  3. Today is the last day to experience Georgia's Response to the Holocaust exhibit at the Post Road Library. To preserve the memory of the Holocaust and to promote public understanding of its history, Forsyth County Public Library, in partnership with the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust and the Georgia Public Library Service, hosted a touring banner exhibit. "Georgia's Response to the Holocaust: Survivors and Liberators" is an exhibit that examines the stories of courage of Holocaust survivors and liberators who were or became Georgia citizens.
