Pinecrest Academy Welcomes Twenty-four New International Students

Pinecrest Academy, a PreK3-12 college preparatory Catholic School in Cumming, welcomed 24 new International students for the 2013-2014 school year. 

To help them transition into Pinecrest Academy and the United States, they arrived in Atlanta two weeks early to attend the International Summer Institute (ISI). 

During ISI, students received assistance with their English from Pinecrest's ESL Teacher, Ms. Katie Miller, and participated in many integration activities, including instruction on basic Catholic formation and participation in several field trips, including a day at Stars and Strikes in Cumming and a trip to the Georgia Aquarium.  

Pinecrest's international students come from a variety of schools around the globe - some from sister Legionaries of Christ schools in Mexico, Colombia, and Chile, and from schools in Korea, China, and Venezuela.
