Pinecrest’s Zalzman Places Fifth at Cross Country Region Championship, Moves on to State

The Pinecrest Academy Cross Country team competed with 13 other high schools at the Area 2 Private Cross Country State Qualifier at Athens Christian School in Athens, Georgia on Thursday, October 31, 2013.  

Senior Jessica Zalzman, who has been battling an injury for the past four weeks, was the first teammate to cross the finish line at 20:44.  Zalzman placed 5th out of 57 girls competing, making her -- for the fourth consecutive year -- a State qualifier.

Zalzman will represent Pinecrest at the State Championship for the fourth time, competing in the last race of her high school Cross Country career. The event takes place on Saturday, November 9 at Carrollton High School in Carrollton, GA, beginning at 2pm.
