- A Forsyth County EMT is being honored with a new plaque after being killed in a head-on crash, Central EMS announced in a Facebook post on Friday. Gina Ayers, 57, will have a plaque dedicated to her at Forsyth County Fire Station #4 on Evans Road. Ayers was driving her Central EMS ambulance on State Route 20 to an emergency call Nov. 17 when the driver of a green Ford Mustang collided head-on with the ambulance, killing Ayers. - In case you missed it, the Georgia Promise Scholarship Act passed 33-23 and is now moving into the State House. Also known as Senate Bill 233, the legislation would give participating students a $6,000 voucher to enroll in a private school that accepts the scholarship, which places no limit on the number of students who can apply. The bill has yet to be voted on in the House of Representatives. (GEORGIA LAW NEWS)
- Forsyth County Public Library is now soliciting submissions for its amateur photography exhibition through May 28. The exhibition, titled "All Together Now," will be on display in June and July at the Sharon Forks Library. It will celebrate togetherness through the themes of kindness, friendship, and unity. Participation is limited to adults. To access the submission form, click here. (Forsyth County Public Library)
