POLL RESULTS: Forsyth, A County Divided

Eighty-eight percent of reader's who took our poll said they did not agree with the recent vote by Georgia Senate splitting county's congressional boundaries in half.

Eighty-eight percent of reader's who took said they did not agree with the recent vote by the .

Senators approved the boundaries by a vote of 34-21 on the final day (Aug. 31) of the special legislative session with Senators Jack Murphy (R-27) and Steve Gooch (R-51) voting in opposition.

The map still must be approved by the U.S. Justice Department for preclearance under the Voting Rights Act.

Of the 26 respondents in our poll, 88 percent did not agree with the senate vote. One percent agreed and seven percent were undecided.

The poll that began on Thursday, Sept. 1, is now closed.
