Rainbow Flag Burning Investigated as Hate Crime

Incident in Forsyth County follows same-sex marriage decision by U.S. Supreme Court.

The burning of a rainbow flag is being investigated as a hate crime, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Robin Regan tells Patch.

The incident overnight Monday was just days after a U.S. Supreme Court decision made same-sex marriage legal in Georgia.

The homeowner in the Hurt Bridge Road area had been flying an American flag, but she changed it to the rainbow flag following the decision, according to Regan.
