Second Fatal Crash On Browns Bridge Road In A Week

One woman is dead and four were injured in a two vehicle head-on crash Saturday, on Browns Bridge Road near Floyd Lane.

CUMMING, GA — One woman is dead and four were injured in a two vehicle head-on crash Saturday, on Browns Bridge Road near Floyd Lane, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. The accident is the second head-on collision on Browns Bridge Road in a week.

Wachovia Thompson, 26, of Forsyth, was killed while she was a passenger in a 2002 Infiniti headed eastbound on Browns Bridge Road. The driver lost control, crossing over the centerline and hit a 2006 Chevrolet K3500 truck traveling west on Browns Bridge Road, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The driver of the 2002 Infiniti was Ryan Travanti Stephens, 34, of Gainesville. Stephens was transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the 2006 Chevrolet was Paul Stewart, 43, of Cumming. Stewart was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Brian Lee Potter, 55, of Gainesville, was killed and Salim Manji, 57, of Gainesville, was hospitalized after a head on collision, Feb. 6, on Browns Bridge Road at the intersection with Bethel Road. A child was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
