Voter Registration Deadline is Approaching

Georgia residents have until Oct. 6 to register to vote in the Nov. 4 General Election.

Georgians who wish to vote in the Nov. 4 General Election but have yet to formally register to vote have one more week to begin the process.

According to the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office, voter registration for the Nov. 4 election will end on Oct. 6. The October date is also the last day someone can begin the voting registration process and be eligible to vote in any state or local general runoffs and any federal runoffs.

The state and local general runoff would be on Dec. 2, while any federal runoff election would be held on Jan. 6, 2015.

Residents wishing to register to vote can register online at the Secretary of State’s webpage provided they have a valid Georgia driver’s license or identification card.

In Forsyth County, early voting for the Nov. 4 election will begin on Oct. 13 and end on Oct. 31. From Oct. 13 - 24, early voting will only be held at the Forsyth County Administration Building in Cumming from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Voting will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the last week of early ballot casting will be from Oct. 27 - 31.

During the final week of early voting, Forsyth residents can cast their ballots at the Hampton Park Library, Cumming City Hall, the Midway Park Community Building, the Sharon Springs Park Community Building, and the Forsyth County Administration building. These sites will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.
