Gwinnett Japanese Restaurant Fails Health Inspection
Mold on drink nozzles and a bucket of chicken stored on the floor were among the problems cited at the HIbachi eatery.

SNELLVILLE, GA — Moldy drink nozzles and raw chicken stored in a bucket on the floor were among the problems cites at a Japanese restaurant that failed its health inspection on Tuesday.
Chin Chin Hibachi Express, at 3425 Centerville Hwy. in Snellville, scored a failing 64/U on the inspection.
Among the problems cited by inspectors was a bucket of raw chicken being stored on the floor of a walk-in cooler and black mold found on the nozzles of a drink dispenser.

Unwashed produce was being stored above clean produce in the cooler, raw beef and eggs were being stored above prepared sauces and raw chicken was being stored above fruit, leading to concerns about contamination.
Employees were storing their drinks on top of drink syrup in the cooler, a hand sink didn't have any paper towels, an open gallon of milk and cooked eggrolls were not time-stamped to ensure their freshness and a rear door was propped open, leading to concerns about pests or vermin getting in.

The 64 was a sharp drop from Chin Chin's last inspection, on March 10, when the restaurant earned a 99/A.
Inspectors will typically check in on a restaurant that fails its inspection again within 10 days. If the problems are not addressed, the restaurant could be temporarily shut down until they're fixed.
