Update: Gas Pipeline Work in Dacula Should Be Quick
Colonial Gas says the work should only take two days and will have minimal traffic impact.

DACULA, GA — Work on gas pipelines in Dacula won't be as disruptive as some folks may have feared, the company doing the work said Friday.
A day earlier, the City of Dacula had described the work as a massive replacement of two fuel lines running beneath the city, saying it could snarl traffic and giving no estimate for when the work would be completed.
On Friday, a spokeswoman for Colonial Gas, the company doing the work, described the project as much more limited in scope and impact.

The work will actually only involve removing six small sections of Colonial's pipeline, said company spokeswoman Malesia Dunn.
She said the work is expected to begin Tuesday afternoon and be completed a little over a day later, on Wednesday evening.

"We also anticipate minimal impact to traffic," Dunn said.
The city had warned of traffic delays that could last for "the remainder of the summer."
The city says the decision to replace the pipe came after Colonial began work on a leak in early 2016 and found other issues that needed to be addressed.
