2 Douglasville Men Charged In Cobb Murder

The men also face armed robbery and aggravated assault charges in the Saturday shooting.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Two Douglasville men have been charged with murder in the shooting death of a man from Powder Springs during an apparent armed robbery.

At about 1:15 a.m. Saturday, Cobb County Police were called to a home on Glendora Drive in Powder Springs. When they arrived, they found 20-year-old Dazel Johnson suffering from gunshot wounds.

Johnson was taken by ambulance to Wellstar South Cobb Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives who were investigating notified other area law enforcement agencies and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office provided information identifying two suspects in the shooting.

As a result, Mikal Reid, 24, and Ross Roberts, 25, both of Douglasville, were arrested. They are charged with murder, aggravated assault and armed robbery.

Detectives continue to investigate and anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Cobb County Police Department's Crimes Against Persons unit at 770-499-3945.
