2 Juveniles In Custody After Shots Fired Near Douglasville School: Sheriff

Two juveniles are being accused of displaying a handgun and firing shots near a school in Douglasville.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Two juveniles are in custody after authorities say shots were fired near a school Monday in Douglas County.

Deputies responded around 3:15 p.m. to the 4600 block of Dorsett Shoals Road, near Youth Villages Inner Harbour Campus, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say they received a 911 call about the juveniles displaying a handgun in the area. The juveniles were suspected of firing shots, authorities said.

Youth Villages was placed on lockdown out of precaution, authorities said.

Responding deputies immediately confronted the juveniles and took them into custody, authorities said. They were not identified, and authorities did not identify any potential charges.
