3 Handguns, 'Pure Silver' Bullets Stolen from Local Pawn Shop

The .45 cal bullets are valued $25 each, Douglasville Police said.

Perhaps a Douglasville shoplifter had werewolves in mind when he stole guns and ammo from a local pawn shop last week.

Along with three semi-automatic handguns, the suspect also stole a box containing around two dozen .45 cal rounds of “pure silver” bullets, according to Douglasville Police on Facebook.

The 1-ounce bullets are stamped with “1 oz. Ag” (Ag is the symbol for silver, by the way) and valued at $25 each. The bullets are custom-made with silver, are “functional and will fire,” the department said, perhaps a warning it may not be a good idea to melt them down for the precious metal.

Police said the suspect entered E Super Pawn on Fairburn Road around 5:50 p.m. on Aug. 28 and proceeded to break the lock on a glass display case and steal the handguns and bullets.

He tucked the stolen guns in his waistband and left on foot toward Senior Drive.
