Accused Elementary School Principal Scheduled in DeKalb County Court

John McGill, the principal of Mt. Carmel Elementary who was arrested on child sex charges over the weekend, will appear before a judge on Tuesday.

The AJC reports that McGill, 56, is scheduled in front of a DeKalb County Magistrate Court judge at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 4.

McGill, who has been suspended by Douglas County Schools pending the investigation, was one of 14 arrested by the GBI  by undercover agents in “Operation Broken Heart”  and charged with seeking sex with a child. The GBI announced the arrests Sunday.

The 14 people were arrested for allegedly traveling to meet a child for sex.
