Alexander FBLA Celebrates Credit Union Opening
Alexander's FBLA chapter celebrates Member's First Grand Opening. A credit union inside a school.

On October 24, officers from Alexander High School’s FBLA collaborated with DECA and the Work-Based Learning Program to host the school’s annual CTAE Open House. The Open House is an event where community members are invited to explore and learn about the school’s Career Technical and Agriculture Education programs. Attendees were escorted by student leaders as they toured classrooms and labs. Community members also had opportunities to talk with teachers and students about curriculum, clubs, and other school activities.
After taking a look into all of Alexander’s 15 pathways, attendees were invited to celebrate Alexander’s partnership with Member’s First Credit Union with a ribbon cutting ceremony designed to celebrate the opening of the credit union’s branch opening inside of the school. The ribbon cutting symbolized the opening of a fully functional credit union inside the school. The partnership between Alexander High School and Member's First Credit Union is one of the few partnerships of this magnitude in the nation and is the first of this sort in the county. “I think it’s truly amazing that we were chosen to have a credit union built inside our school", says Jazzmin Taylor. "I’m grateful that Member’s First Credit Union has invested so much into our school and our education.”
