Anne Curran Zapico, 75, Dies

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Mike Broome officiating.

Anne Curran Zapico, 75 of Carrollton, passed away on Friday evening, Nov. 22. She was born Nov. 2, 1938 in Atlanta, the daughter of the late Jack Curran and Leila Prickett Curran. She graduated from Grady High School and attended Emory University. In her career, she had owned and operated Zapico’s Deli, with her husband, and had worked as Sales Director with Ramada Inn and served as Food Director with Sunset Hills Country Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl “Sonny” Martin and a sister, Bessie Kepp.

Survivors include her husband, Fred C. Zapico of Carrollton; sons: Chris Martin & Oscar Sandoval of Atlanta and Beau & Stacy Martin of Carrollton; three grandchildren: Zack Martin, Turner Martin and Ross Martin and one great granddaughter, Molly Kate Martin.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Mike Broome officiating.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Turner Martin, Zack Martin, Ross Martin, Wendell Furr, Mike Mallory and Stan Davis. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery with Father Rafael Carballo officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
