Armed Man Convicted Of Lithia Springs Pizza Hut Robbery
Martin Kyle Kittrell was sentenced in the 2015 robbery on Thursday.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — A Douglas County jury has convicted a man of a 2o15 robbery at a Lithia Springs Pizza Hut during which he pointed a gun at the restaurant's manager.
Martin Kyle Kittrell was found guilty Monday of armed robbery and possession of a firearm while committing a felony. He was sentenced Thursday to 25 years in prison by Superior Court Judge Cynthia C. Adams.
On Nov. 17, 2015, Kittrell walked into the Pizza Hut, on South Sweetwater Road, pointed a gun at the manager and demanded all of the cash in the register. He grabbed the money and ran out of the restaurant and to a getaway car parked behind another business.

As he was running away, a delivery driver for the Pizza Hut saw his face. Both the driver and manager picked him out of a photo lineup presented to them by Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputies.
During a six-day trial, both witnesses identified Kittrell in court. Prosecutors also presented evidence that he had confessed to someone and recordings of calls from jail, during which he could be heard trying to come up with alibis in the case.

Assistant District Attorney Sam Newman cited Kittrell's lack of remorse as a reason for a lengthy sentence. During his sentencing, Adams cited "demeaning and terrible things" Kittrell was heard saying during the jailhouse phone calls.
"You did not sound like a very good person to me," she said during the sentencing.
Kittrell's 25 years in prison are to be served without parole, according to the sentence.
"We will continue to aggressively prosecute offenders like Martin Kittrell, who seek to put the safety of our community members at risk," said District Attorney Brian Fortner. "I am grateful to the jury holding the defendant accountable for his violent crime."
Kittrell was represented at trial and sentencing by attorneys Frank Winn and Travis Glahn.
