Armed Teens Arrested For Entering Vehicles, Fleeing: Police

The four teens were taken into custody after entering cars at the Millwood Park Apartments complex on Friday.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Four teens — some carrying firearms — broke into several cars Friday at an apartment complex in Douglasville before fleeing and leading police on a chase.

Authorities responded to the Millwood Park Apartments, 8242 Duralee Lane in Douglasville, on Friday after a witness reported that several cars were being broken into at the complex. Four suspects then fled in a vehicle.

Officers followed the vehicle and were able to get it to stop near Cooper Street, according to a news release from the Douglasville Police Department. The four suspects, some carrying firearms in their hands, got out of the car and three were almost immediately taken into custody, police said.

All three had handguns, according to authorities.

The final suspect was tracked and apprehended by a police K9 officer, police said.

The suspects have been identified as Dareon Kelley, 19, and Antavious Bowden, 18. The other two are juveniles, who are both 15 years old, and are not being identified because they are minors.

None of the suspects are from Douglas County, authorities said.

All have been charged with entering auto, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of stolen property, possession of marijuana, possession of burglary tools, criminal use of a firearm with altered identification and fleeing and attempting to elude.
