You don't always have to put up a big win to shine. Truth of that rule comes in the form of quarterback Dempsey Abernathy, who is the Douglasville Patch Athlete of the Week. Alexander lost to North Paulding on a last-minute score, but Abernathy went 22-for-37 with 305 yards in the air and rushed for another 115 yards on 11 ground carries. Abernathy either ran or threw for all five of Alexander's touchdowns Friday.
