Auditions are coming up for the 12th Annual Douglasville Idol and Talent Contest Competition scheduled July 4th at Hunter Park during the Festival in the Park.
The event is presented by S.H.A.R.E. House, Inc.

Auditions are Saturday, June 13 at 10 am or Saturday, June 20, also at 10 am, at Hunter Park, 8830 Gurley Road in Douglasville. Those chosen will be notified before leaving the audition.
The Douglasville Idol contest will feature only solo singing in the following categories: Pop/Rock, Country, Gospel, Broadway, or Contemporary Christian. The Talent competition includes solos with instruments, duets, trios, small ensembles, dance routines, magicians, etc. not to exceed more than eight people per act.
Applicants for both categories (singing and talent) from 8 years of age and older are accepted and must be of amateur status. A registration fee of $25 must be paid at the time of the auditions. Registration fees are non-refundable. If applicant(s) is under 18 years of age, a parent signature is required on the registration form.
- Contestants may be eligible for a discount on their registration fee if they refer other act/contestants to the auditions. Call the numbers below for more information.
Performances must be no longer than 4 minutes. Those longer than 4 minutes and those that are not in good taste will not be accepted. For the July 4 performance and competition a karaoke CD or accompaniment tracks are preferred.

All proceeds benefit S.H.A.R.E. House, Inc., which is a non-profit organization providing crisis intervention and the continuum of care to address the causes and effects of family violence. Services provided include 24 Hour Crisis Line, 24 Hour Emergency Shelter, transitional apartments, legal advocacy, case management, children’s programs, counseling, emergency food and clothing, community education and more.
