Be Intentional in Your Marriage

Without a vision, a marriage is aimless. This is where intentionality is one of the keys for success in an amazing marriage. I never thought I would say this, but out of all the marriage tools I have compiled, intentionality is in my top 10 favorite marriage tools.

Why intentionality is so important? One reason and one reason alone. You have a plan.

I do not want to take romance and spontaneity away; intentionality gives the married individual focus. By planning for success in your marriage, you know where you heading.

2014 is approaching very fast; here are 3 steps to start building an intentional marriage.

   1.     Have a mission for your marriage – What is the ultimate goal for your marriage? What is your role as wife or husband in relation to your marriage’s mission? How do you want to impact your children, your community and the world with your marriage?

   2.      Break your marriage mission into small goals – It is important to have goals, but if they are just goals without achievable steps, you will get frustrated. Because you will go nowhere.

   3.     Get an accountability partner – Choose your accountability partner wisely. I usually recommend couple to choose another couple who shared the same value system. The accountability partner is so important because you have someone to help you and encourage to stay on track.

Don’t just sit and wonder if your marriage can be successful, be intentional  and start working toward an amazing marriage today.
