Blake Gammill Run Set For May 19, To Benefit Sheriff's Office

The 14th Annual Blake Gammill Run will take place May 19 at Boundry Waters Park in Douglasville.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The 14th Annual Blake Gammill Run will take place May 19 at Boundry Waters Park in Douglasville and benefit the Douglas County Sheriff's training programs and get protective gear for the Sheriff Emergency Response Team. Pre-registration is by May 9.

This race is in honor of Officer Blake Gammill, Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy who was killed in the line of duty Feb. 24, 2005. The race course winds through the pathways and trails of Boundary Waters.

5K Run/Walk begins at 7:30 AM,
10.5K begins at 8:15 AM
1-Mile Run/Walk begins at 8:20 AM.

Pre-registered by May 9th, 5K $20 and 10.5K $20, 1-mile $15 (any two races fee is $35) pre-registered only will be eligible for door prizes. After May 9th and on race day, fees are $30 (5k or 10.5k) and $25 (1-mile) and ($45 if running both the 5k and 10.5k). Races will proceed rain or shine. No refunds available.

Packet pick-up and race day registration are at the Boundary Waters Park beginning at 6 a.m. on the day of the race.

All pre-registered participants will receive one quality, wicking technical t-shirt (adult sizes only, youth sizes cotton). Late and race day registrants are not guaranteed a t-shirt.

Only 1 shirt if participating in 1 or all events.

All run events will be on a combination of roads, grass, and trails.

For the safety of everyone, no pets, headphones or strollers are permitted on the course.

Awards will be given for 5K overall male and female, masters male and female, and top three male and female in 15 age groups from 10 and under through 75+. Ribbons will be awarded to all 1-mile finishers. Only Pre-registered will be eligible for door prizes.
