A Day Is All They Have Left

Each of these dogs has been placed on this weeks IN DANGER LIST at Douglas County Animal Control. They are all sweet animals deserving of a forever home. If they are not adopted or rescued by 7 PM Thursday, they risk being put down Friday morning for space. At least half of these dogs were on last week's list and that dramatically increases thier risk of being put down if not adopted or rescued by Thursday afternoon at 7 PM. Please consider coming to the shelter today to have a look at these wonderful dogs and consider adopting one. You may be the only chance they have left at life.

The summer months are the critical months to adopt and rescue dogs and cats, so please consider giving one of these dogs or cats a loving and forever home.

Pet listings on each of these pages are updated daily; therefore, some animals featured may be adopted prior to your arrival at the shelter. That after all is the goal. Adoption fees for dogs and cats at DCAC is $25 and there is a $10 micro chip fee. $35 for the opportunity to make a friend for life and the opportunity to give a fur kid a forever home is a small price to pay. 

All dogs presently receive intake inoculations for kennel cough, parvo and distemper (cats receive distemper as part of a five way vaccination). All pets adopted from the shelter are required to have their rabies shots and be spayed or neutered within thirty days of adoption, unless they are kittens or puppies and they are given extended time.
