Come Out To the Shelter Sunday Afternoon

Come out to the shelter Sunday afternoon. The shelter will be open from 2-5 PM and there are many beautiful animals in need of forever homes. Those on the IN DANGER list were given a reprieve Friday: however, the euthanasia postponed Friday will be carried out on Monday, so those on the list only have one day before they will be put down for space if they are not adopted.

There are truly some beautiful dogs and cats at the shelter right now and all in takes is a caring heart and $35 and one of them can be yours. Many are already spayed and neutered and all of them are longing to have a home to call their own.

Come by the shelter Sunday afternoon and I will be glad to help you look at dogs and cats and help you find just the right one for you and your family.

The Douglas County Animal Shelter is located at 1755 County Services Road (off Cedar Mountain Road). Take Chicago Ave. north from downtown Douglasville, Chicago will turn into Cedar Mountain Rd. County Services runs off to the right. The shelter is adjacent to the landfill, approximatley six miles north of downtown.

Pet listings on each of these pages are updated daily; therefore, some animals featured may be adopted prior to your arrival at the shelter. That after all is the goal. If the pet you have seen promoted and are interested in has been adopted, please consider giving another of the many loveable pets an opportunity to be your forever friend. Come see them and allow them to show you just how special they each are once they are given a chance to be adopted.

Adoption fees for dogs and cats at DCAC is $25 and there is a $10 micro chip fee. $35 for the opportunity to make a friend for life and the opportunity to give a fur kid a forever home is a small price to pay. 

All dogs presently receive intake inoculations for kennel cough, parvo and distemper (cats receive distemper as part of a five way vaccination). All pets adopted from the shelter are required to have their rabies shots and be spayed or neutered within thirty days of adoption, unless they are kittens or puppies and they are given extended time.
