Free Gardening Talk at Dog River Library

Join me for a free talk about growing heirloom flowers, fruits, and veggies at the new Dog River Library on Sat., March 10.

Can you believe this weather? A couple of days ago, we were watching for snowflakes. Today, the sun is out and the forecast says we'll hit 66 degrees. (Not sure we will, but we can hope.)

Just one sunny day makes me crazy to get outside and start working on my garden. If your green thumb is starting to itch, please join me at the Dog River Library on Sat., March 10. I'll be there from 11 am to 1 pm, talking about my book, Gardening with Heirloom Seeds, and giving a FREE PowerPoint presentation about growing these old-timey flowers, fruits, and veggies.

If you don't know what heirlooms are--well, you may have been growing them all along. They're just varieties that have been around for 50 years or more, so they're the kinds of plants our grandparents grew.

If you've grown Brandywine tomatoes, for example, you've grown an heirloom, and you know how good they taste. Come find out about lots more easy-to-grow, delicious foods and beautiful flowers from long ago!

My PowerPoint talk starts at noon in the library's community room. If you've got some seeds to share, bring them! We can do a mini seed-swap.
