Hunter is a beautiful Golden Lab who came to the shelter on June 13th. He is a sweet guy, approximately 3-4 years old and approximately 60 pounds. Hunter is a very shy and reserved dog, easy going and gentle with people and children. He appears to get along well with other dogs and he has a peaceful and calm disposition. Hunter will need to be neutered and have his rabies vaccination after adoption. Please take the time to come see Hunter today.

If you’re interested in adopting Hunter, or any of the many other dogs or cats that are available for adoption, please visit the Douglas County Animal Shelter located at 1755 County Services Road (off Cedar Mountain Road). The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. The shelter is closed to the public on Monday, but open to rescue organizations on Mondays. The summer months are the critical months to adopt and rescue, so please consider giving one of these dogs or cats a loving adn forever home.

Adoption fees for dogs and cats at DCAC is $25 and there is a $10 micro chip fee. $35 for the opportunity to make a friend for life and the opportunity to give a fur kid a forever home is a small price to pay. All dogs presently receive intake inoculations for kennel cough, parvo and distemper (cats receive distemper as part of a five way vaccination). All pets adopted from the shelter are required to have their rabies shots and be spayed or neutered within thirty days of adoption, unless they are kittens or puppies and they are given extended times.
