Jax Is Awesome!

Jax came to the shelter as a quarantine case on June 22, 2012. Jax only recently joined the pulic kennels and he has immediately become a favorite of many who have come to know him. Kennel staff say that he is an awesome dog! Jax is a male and he is listed as a hound labrador mix. Jax appears to be 2-4 years old and about forty pounds. Jax has not been neutered. Jax appears to know simple commands of sit and shake and is very attentive to people who take the time to visit with him. Come see Jax this week and allow him the opportunity to demonstrate his great qualities to you.

The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. The shelter is closed to the public on Monday, but open to rescue organizations on Mondays. The summer months are the critical months to adopt and rescue, so please consider giving one of these dogs or cats a loving and forever home.

Pet listings on each of these pages are updated daily, therefore, some animals featured may be adopted prior to your arrival at the shelter and that after all is the goal. Adoption fees for dogs and cats at DCAC is $25 and there is a $10 micro chip fee. $35 for the opportunity to make a friend for life and the opportunity to give a fur kid a forever home is a small price to pay. Don't forget, this month (July) there is a special half price and free spay neuter program for all kittens.

All dogs presently receive intake inoculations for kennel cough, parvo and distemper (cats receive distemper as part of a five way vaccination). All pets adopted from the shelter are required to have their rabies shots and be spayed or neutered within thirty days of adoption, unless they are kittens or puppies and they are given extended time.
