Multicultural Festival at the University of West Georgia
March at UWG includes a multicultural festival and, for Women's History Month, the film "Miss Representation."
As always, there are lots of events at the University of West Georgia. I have to thank our student writer, Ernest Ricks, for putting this list together for me:
The third Annual Multicultural Festival kicks off at noon on March 15. This year’s celebration offers music, dance and art from around the world. On hand will be dancers from Liberia, China and Indonesia. A highlight will be a Chinese Lion Dance.
Art by John Martin and Lee-Jan Jan will be on display. DJ Omari Mann, the Carrollton African Drummers, Soweto Street Beat and the Henry Wang Chinese Music Ensemble will perform.

Students will also be able to participate in a dance contest as well as receive henna tattoos.
The festival will be in the Campus Center Ballroom, the Campus Center Patio, and the grassy triangle. It ends at 5 p.m.

In honor of Women’s History Month, the Office of Institutional Diversity hosts a screening of “Miss Representation.” The documentary explores how the mainstream media has contributed to the under-representation of women in influential positions. The screening will be in the Campus Center Ballroom on March 27 at 7 p.m.
It is co-sponsored by the UWG Women’s Studies program and the UWG chapter of Amnesty International.
