Paws For a Cause

Douglas County Animal Control participated along with the Douglas County Humane Society

About 200 people turned out Saturday for Paws for a Cause held at Deerlick Park Dog Park. There were pet related displays from various organizations, a bee keeper present selling honey and a number of informational displays. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit came out with three of their dogs and put on a great demonstration of what their dogs are trained to do and how they benefit the community with their unique capabilities.

Douglas County Animal Control participated with the Douglas County Humane Society and brought two of their fully vetted dogs to be seen and interact with the public. Walgreen's sponsored dog competitions and there were raffles for pet related items and services. Everyone who attended enjoyed themselves and a number of people brought their dogs and took advantage of the new Deerlick Dog park while they were there.
