Twitter me this...Social Media for Seniors Flies in at Douglasville FUMC

If you've ever wondered about what all the social media hubbub is about, you may want to grab your device or laptop, make a dinner reservation, and visit Douglasville FUMC! Read more.

Ahhhhh, social media is close to my heart. I teach it. Practice it. Write about it and talk about it on the radio.

Professional Mojo creates value for businesses across the United States using online lead gen and social media. I often take for granted, however, how much folks know about social media. This is especially true of folks of, uh, shall we say...a certain age.

Well, Douglasville First United Methodist Church is about to change all of that, and I couldn't be happier! DFUMC understands and embraces social media as a way to communicate quickly and effectively with members and the community. They use blogging, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, among other tools, to ensure that important updates, events and community information are shared on a timely basis. They also use social media to share articles, music, insight and studies. As part of their dedication to ensuring everyone can access these great resources, they have scheduled a social media class - and YOU are invited to attend.

Here is the skinny, direct from the social media moguls at DFUMC themselves:

At the request of the Senior Adult Council, Rev. Scott Hughes and a team of social media moguls will be in Patricia Tidwell Hall on Wednesday October 10 and Wednesday October 17, from 4:30 until 5:30, to get participants up and running on Facebook and Twitter. Participants need to call (770-942-3146) for reservations (or make them online) and bring their own laptop or other Internet device to participate. When you call or send in your form, be sure to note that you'll be attending the social media class!

You will learn how to get information on the church’s Facebook page and how to tweet with the pros.  We promise no “geek talk” - only fun and knowledge. Plus, you will finish in time to enjoy fellowship and dinner with your friends. Call in your dinner reservation and at the same time let Scott know that you will be at the workshop - 770-942-3146.
