Zee is a sweet little American Pit mix female puppy. She is approximately five months old. Zee came to the shelter on June 4th as a stray pick up. Zee has beautiful caramel and white markings and a very sweet disposition. See loves attention and the opportunity to meet visitors. Zee will need to be spayed once adopted and receive her rabies vaccinations. Zee would love a forever home and the opportunity to explore the world that she has seen very little of since being born. Zee was chosen Pet of the Week this week because she is such a sweet little girl. Please consider coming to visit her this weekend. Zee and a lot of other dogs and cats are hoping to see you.

If you’re interested in adopting Zee, or any of the many other dogs or cats that are available for adoption, please visit the Douglas County Animal Shelter located at 1755 County Services Road (off Cedar Mountain Road). The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. The shelter is closed to the public on Monday, but open to rescue organizations on Mondays. The summer months are the critical months to adopt and rescue, so please consider giving one of these dogs or cats a loving adn forever home.

Adoption fees for dogs and cats at DCAC is $25 and there is a $10 micro chip fee. $35 for the opportunity to make a friend for life and the opportunity to give a fur kid a forever home is a small price to pay. All dogs presently receive intake inoculations for kennel cough, parvo and distemper (cats receive distemper as part of a five way vaccination). All pets adopted from the shelter are required to have their rabies shots and be spayed or neutered within thirty days of adoption, unless they are kittens or puppies and they are given extended times.
