Who: There will be one class the first week for middle school students and another class the second week for high school students.

What they’ll learn: Everything from ideation through the building blocks of the business canvas, the components of an investor pitch, and how to pitch their idea to an investor. A final ceremony will be held for the students to present a 5-minute pitch to the parents, like a pro, in a Shark Tank style setting.

Who will be teaching?: The classes will be lead by a local entrepreneur with 16 years in engineering and an MBA from Georgia Tech. She’s a business advisor to both new and established companies, and founder of the technology startup company, ThePartyMatch.

Why are we doing this?: Young people, especially kids and teenagers, are extraordinarily creative and lovers of technology. We’ve found that they present great business ideas to fulfill needs that aren’t currently met in the marketplace, representing possible business opportunities that can be achieved with proper guidance. It’s important that we keep in mind that this upcoming generation will be responsible for exceeding our advances in technology and creating new solutions to both old and new problems that result, so, investing in them early in life helps ignite a spirit that will encourage them to think outside of the box in pursuit of creating their own entrepreneurial experience.
