Construction Worker Seriously Injured When Struck By Vehicle
Police say a driver will face charges after hitting and causing serious injury to a construction worker Friday while working on I-85 N.
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A construction worker was seriously injured Friday at around 5 a.m. when a vehicle struck him while working on I-85 N near the I-985 N split. The worker was transported to a nearby hospital. The driver will face charges, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.
The construction worker was wearing a reflective jacket and helmet as he removed barrels from the end of the closure, preparing it to be reopened.
The driver, Peter Rozboril, entered the lane closure with the intent to exit onto I-985 N and struck the worker. He was driving a maroon Toyota Corolla on I-85 N. The driver remained at the scene and spoke with investigators.
