Country Concert Under the Stars

Country music singer and Marietta native, Doug Stone, played a concert at Fairfield Plantation Saturday evening, despite the heavy rain that afternoon. Stone had a fifteen Top Ten singles between 1990 and 1995. 

The concert was part of an effort to raise funds for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Douglas County which acts as a liason between children and the court in foster care situations. CASA of Dougas County served 151 children last year, and is on its way to serving even more children this year. Each of the more than 50 CASA volunteers meet with foster children one time per month, with an ultimate goal to get the child to a caring, loving, and permanent home.
