Virgil Leon Chosewood pleaded guilty Monday to rape and aggravated child molestation, crimes that were uncovered last year after he was allegedly found peeping into the bathroom as his girlfriend’s 10-year-old daughter showered, the DA’s office said on Facebook.
District Attorney Brian Fortner called Chosewood “a danger to all children in our community.”

According to evidence presented in court, Chosewood’s girlfriend caught him peeping into the bathroom through a window from outside the home. After the February, 2014 incident, the girl revealed Chosewood “had been molesting her for several months,” the DA’s office said.
During the investigation, the girl’s 15-year-old came forward to say Chosewood had also molested her several years ago.
As per the sentence, Chosewood will have to serve 25 years in prison before becoming eligible for parole. If he is paroled, he will have to register as a sex offender and banned from contacting the victims, the DA’s office said.
The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Bonnie Smith and Assistant District Attorney David Emadi.
