Darlene Smitherman, age 56, of Douglasville, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014. She was born on September 11, 1957, in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of the late Howard Reed Smitherman and the late Dorothy Jean Thomas Smitherman. She was a housekeeper and a Baptist by faith.

Survivors include her three children, Chris Reed of Villa Rica, Brianna Reed and Shane Reed both of Franklin, Georgia; 4 grandchildren; 2 sisters: her twin, Arlene Williams and Rita Graham; brother, Donnie Smitherman of Garland, TX.

In accordance with her wishes, her body was cremated and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
